Oatmeal Cookies 1 cup all-purpose flour 2/3 cup rolled oats 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 1 egg, beaten lightly 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 tablespoon milk 1. In a bowl mix the butter and sugar until it is creamy. Then add the egg, vanilla, and milk and beat until it is smooth. 2. In another bowl sift the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add these sifted ingredients to the other bowl and mix well. Then add in the oats and mix. Raisins can be added here if you want oatmeal-raisin cookies. 3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Get out about a tablespoon of the mixture for each cookie, placing it on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes and cool on a wire rack. 4. Sheets may ned to be lightly greased, depending on type of cookie sheet you use. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
